Wayne T. Dodge, MD MPH DipC AAHIVMS
Wayne T. Dodge was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Wayne went East for his education. After majoring in Limnology at Yale with G. Evelyn Hutchinson and singing with the Whiffenpoofs, he went on to the University of Rochester for his MD. He completed a residency in Family Medicine in Cleveland and returned home to Seattle for a Robert Woods Johnson Fellowship at the University of Washington. He started work at Group Health Cooperative (GHC) in 1979. His work with HIV started with his first patient in 1983 and he became the first GHC HIV/AIDS Program Director in 1988. He received the GHC Medical Staff Innovation Award in 1989 and the Northwest AIDS Foundation Medical Community Award in 1993 for his work in HIV care.
He first attended programs with Ben and Jock in 1980. He completed his DipC in 1991 and began leading courses with his close friend Gwen Ewan. He currently leads Come Alive, Phase I and III as well as Self-Compassion and portions of the Skills series at The Haven Institute. Outside of GHC and The Haven Institute, Wayne is a proud father, avid gardener and lover of music. He and his partner, Larry Kreisman, have just celebrated their 28th anniversary.
